About the Artist
Taf Schaefer grew up on Cape Cod where the teeming oceans and transcendent wild beauty inspired her to become a sculptor. Objects collected from time spent on the beaches and in the woods have been a source of inspiration for Schaefer along with powerful imagery of the world’s animals. Schaefer earned her B.F.A. in sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design carving stone and wood and casting bronze. Jewelry and light metals became an enduring interest and, as elements, played a part in her sculpture.
